Subject: [NCL Members] NCL public policy meeting canceled
Because there is not a lot of news on FY22 appropriations or the Build
Back Better reconciliation bill, we are canceling the normal NCL public
policy call tomorrow. Therefore, the next public policy call will be
February 2, 4:00 ET.
In lieu of a meeting, NCL urges everyone to participate in one of the NTIA
public virtual listening sessions about the five new broadband grant
programs authorized and funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs
Act. The listening sessions are designed to collect stakeholder input to
help inform program development and implementation.
The remaining dates for sessions are:
Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 2:30–4 p.m. ET;
Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 2:30–4 p.m. ET;
Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 2:30–4 p.m. ET;
Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 2:30–4 p.m. ET.
These listening sessions will be hosted via NTIA’s virtual platform and
conducted as a live public listening sessions. NTIA will post the
registration information on its Broadbands website at
As a reminder, the new grant programs are:
Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program;
Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program;
Digital Equity Act, which includes three grant programs:
State Digital Equity Planning Grant Program
State Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program
Digital Equity Competitive Grant Program
Note: attached, please see comments posted by Judy Mortrude in response to
the questions posed in the first public listening session on December 15,
which may help in comments you submit.
Happy New Year!
